Rafael Chaves, self-described as a quantum information hacker, is dedicated to exploring the application of quantum knowledge in computing. With a solid foundation in physics, Chaves earned his doctorate at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and specialized further during post-doctoral stints at three international institutions: the Institute of Photonic Sciences in Spain in 2012, and both the University of Köln and the University of Freiburg in Germany in 2016. For Chaves, the greatest challenge of quantum physics lies in navigating the uncertainties it presents. Through his research, he aspires to broaden the horizons of computing, with a particular emphasis on the realm of cryptography.
