Computer scientist Francisco Sant’Anna is focused on the future of energy efficiency. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in nearly every aspect of life, he is mindful of the potential exponential increase in energy consumption they will bring. As a result, his project is centered on developing a programming language specifically designed to maximize the standby time of these devices. Francisco, a professor of computer science at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), holds a PhD in computer science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, where he also completed his post-doctorate.
