Outra Visão
Science outreach / Podcast

“Outra Visão” (Another View) is a podcast produced by Redes da Maré and developed by the Right to Public Security and Access to Justice Initiative. It examines the critical issue of inadequate forensic investigation in the crimes that take place in the Maré favelas of Rio de Janeiro’s North Zone and explores how a thorough investigation using new tools in forensic science could promote justice for victims and families affected by state violence.

By highlighting the neglect of forensic science in death cases, Outra Visão exposes how incomplete or compromised investigations can lead to impunity. This crucial analysis is based on direct observation and fieldwork conducted during police operations.
