Polígono

Science outreach / Digital Media, Social media

The Polygon project is divided into three stages: first, in 2021, Science Pulse was created, a social listening tool aimed at spreading science. The platform curated more than 1,500 profiles of scientists, experts and institutions from Brazil and around the world on Twitter, with the aim of following scientific debates on the networks. However, Science Pulse was deactivated due to updates to the platform, which no longer offers the data needed for monitoring.

In 2022, the Polígono newsletter was launched, which to this day explores and analyzes scientific content on social media, curated and written by journalists Meghie Rodrigues and Chloé Pinheiro.

In 2024, Ciência Monitorada was created – in partnership with Agência Bori – a platform that aims to facilitate the monitoring of Brazilian public documents by the scientific community. Using Legislatech, a tool developed by the Center, researchers can select terms of interest and public bodies to monitor and receive alerts about mentions of these keywords. The panel with all the information monitored by the project is public.
