Pharmacist Caio Oliveira began his academic careerIt at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). He lived in the capital of Bahia from the age of 11 to 24. He earned a master’s degree in chemistry from UFBA and, soon after, a doctorate in the same field from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). His post-doc research was also at UNICAMP, but Caio also spent time in Switzerland, at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne. Now a professor at the Chemistry Institute of the State University of Campinas, Caio was the first in his family to earn a university degree. But fortunately, the situation is different now, as other cousins have also completed higher education. Outside the classroom and laboratory, Caio rides his bike and swims. His favorite books are “One Hundred Years of Solitude” and “The Unsustainable Lightness of Being.”
