Since the first case of Covid-19 was announced in Brazil on February 26, 2020, biologist and science communicator Atila Iamarino has become one of the main references in disseminating information about the coronavirus. This was the date of the first live stream on his YouTube channel, which currently has more than 1 million subscribers. Since April, Serrapilheira has supported the production of content focused on this topic for Atila Iamarino’s YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Telegram accounts. The aim is to increase access to quality information about the pandemic in Brazil and around the world.

Media outlets across the country now cover the content produced by him. He is currently a columnist for the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo and has participated in television programs and provided scientific consultancy to deputies, senators and ministers.
After the emergency support, new financing from Serrapilheira was negotiated to produce content on channels established during the pandemic – now on other scientific dissemination content in addition to Covid-19 – and the structuring of the Instituto Não Ficção (Non-Fiction Institute), a production company that provides support for the influencer’s work.
