Bernardo Strassburg, an economist by training, graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He holds a master’s in energy planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a doctorate in environmental sciences from the University of East Anglia in England. His work primarily revolves around an in-depth exploration of ecological restoration. In addition to his research endeavors, Bernardo is the executive director at the International Institute for Sustainability and is an assistant professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). To keep his scientific hypotheses invigorated, he enjoys immersing himself in nature through hiking. This provides a refreshing break and stimulates his thought process.
