Journalism

A journalist and professor with more than 15 years of experience covering social and environmental issues in the Amazon. She is currently the editor of the academic journal Wamon and the newspaper Jornal Varadouro. She has worked for outlets such as InfoAmazonia and Amazônia Real, and has participated in science communication and impact initiatives at the Serrapilheira Institute and Abraji.

Historic floods and record-breaking droughts have begun to alternate more frequently in the Acre River basin. This report highlights the dramatic changes in the landscape that help explain the instability in the hydrological system.

It had the scientific collaboration of Guilherme Martins Couto, Mayã Garcia, Renan Cassimiro Brito, Luisa Feitosa, and Natale Cavezzale Dias, students of The Training Program in Quantitative Ecology.
