Projects

SciDev.Net Latin America
Science outreach / Journalism

Science journalism and science coverage in general focus on the scientist and research results—which is certainly important. In this project supported by Serrapilheira, we produce news that focuses on citizens who are not scientists. It will include news that shows concrete examples of the impact of science in daily life and also of people who contribute to science but did not pursue a formal education in science. We are also seeking concrete examples of misinformation in science and health that has caused harm to people.

SciDev.Net is a reliable news site about science and technology for development. The portal dedicated to Latin America specifically addresses topics that bring together science, technology, and development in our region. We aim to help science and technology play a central role in positively impacting sustainable development and poverty reduction in the Global South. SciDev.Net is currently managed by the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International.
