Olivier Martin

Mathematics

Oliver Martin is a mathematician whose research explores complex geometric forms with the potential to reshape our understanding of algebraic geometry. He holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Chicago and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stony Brook University (State University of New York).

Currently an assistant professor at the National Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics in Rio de Janeiro, he balances his academic pursuits with a passion for outdoor adventure. The Canadian, an avid rock climber, explores Brazil’s mountains and cliffs and enjoys scuba diving and hiking. His time in Brazil has also fostered an appreciation for local cuisine, literature, and culture.
