Artificial Intelligence at the Large Hadron Collider

High-energy physics explores the most fundamental constituents of matter, known as elementary particles, and their mutual interactions. Probing these minuscule entities requires high-energy-density states. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC), currently the world’s largest operational particle accelerator, facilitates this exploration. Collisions between protons in the LHC enable us to examine distances as tiny as one billionth of one billionth of a meter. As of 2026, these detectors are projected to generate approximately 60 GB/second of data. This massive data stream poses a significant challenge for analysis using existing computational techniques. However, new artificial intelligence methodologies could potentially resolve this issue, aiding us in our quest to unravel the true essence of matter.
