How can science contribute to creating a sustainable future for the Amazon rainforest and its inhabitants? The Ciência para um futuro sistentável na Amazônia (“Science for a sustainable future in the Amazon”) project developed three multimedia reports, published on Mongabay, that show the environmental and economic benefits of agroforestry techniques, renewable energy and new monitoring technologies. The articles also address the difficulties in implementing these solutions on a large scale and other possible technical and logistical bottlenecks.
