Delving into the Dynamics of High-Energy Cosmic Rays and Black Holes

Science / Physics

Cosmic rays, particles of cosmic origin that strike Earth, present numerous challenges in their study. Two key questions that need to be addressed are their origin (production, acceleration, and propagation) and their significance in the overall energy balance of the universe. In this project, we plan to employ accretion models and relativistic jets from black holes to determine the luminosity of cosmic rays and their contribution to the total energy balance. The model derived from this approach will be validated against new data from leading observatories.
