Mukengi Project

Science / Diversity in Science

Racism limits the creative power of science and technology by reducing diversity in research and development environments. One of the consequences is the lack of knowledge to address the challenges Black and Indigenous communities face. In this context, the Mukengi project aims to empower Black and Indigenous researchers to conduct S&T research relevant to their communities. The researchers critically engage with scientific knowledge and social and racial issues, using applied S&T research as a key tool for transformation. Ultimately, the project aims to raise awareness, sensitize, and equip a generation of researchers to build a more just and equitable society.
