In 2018, women mathematicians worldwide gathered at the first edition of the World Meeting of Women in Mathematics, the (WM)². An initiative of the Committee for Women in Mathematics of the International Mathematical Union, the (WM)² preceded the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2018). It promoted the exchange of experiences between international scientists, united by academic interest and challenges related to the female gender. Studies and data were presented on the impact of gender disparity in the discipline’s fields.
