Rafael Montezuma

Minimal surface mathematician Rafael Montezuma explores fascinating geometric forms with major implications for physics and materials science. His research can potentially impact diverse fields such as architecture and biology. He graduated in mathematics from the Federal University of Ceará and earned his master’s and doctorate from the National Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics.

He has completed three postdoctoral internships, two at Princeton University and one at Imperial College London. He enjoys playing soccer, but since his daughters Alice and Laura were born, he spends most of his free time caring for them.
