Sanctions, blockades, and boycotts obscured its history and stifled its growth. The consequences of these injustices reverberate today as the nation grapples with environmental challenges exacerbated by the exploitation of its people and resources under the guise of humanitarian aid. Studies reveal the environmental toll of humanitarian interventions and the precarious labor conditions Haitians face in the diaspora.

This season’s narrator makes a science out of his life by interweaving his personal experiences, history, and career to illuminate Haitian reality.
